I was obsessed with this book, and I feel a little guilty about it. Damon is absolutely awful at the beginning, so this is definitely not for anyone looking for a golden-retriever hero. If you want something extremely spicy, dark, mysterious, and completely WTF…
I almost DNF'd Pen Pal at 30%, but I'm so glad I went back to it. I struggled with the rushed relationship and similarities to some of Geissinger's other books, but the final 15% completely changed my opinion of the story. Once everything came together, so many of my earlier criticisms suddenly made sense, and I absolutely loved watching everything click into place.
